Research and Development in Laser Physics
We provide feasibility studies and conceptual design for femtosecond lasers, specialized sub-systems, and advanced diagnostic instruments. The process begins with a detailed analysis of your specific problem to brainstorm and propose a functional solution. Beyond the conceptual phase, we support prototype development, performance testing, and optimization for transition to production. Experimental part of the research can also be conducted directly in your facility to ensure the solution is perfectly matches your needs and strategic goals.
Simulation Software for Laser R&D
We develop custom simulation tools for advanced laser R&D. Our portfolio includes software for dispersion management, pulse characterization, and ray-tracing, as well as complex non-ABCD simulations of non-Gaussian resonators. We also specialize in the stability analysis and dynamics of Q-switched, cavity-dumped, mode-locked, and CPA laser systems.
The primary goal of R&D software is cost mitigation: a properly calibrated numerical model provides essential predictive insight. Beyond identifying stable solutions for your design, these tools allow you to filter out non-feasible ideas early thus preventing your team from wasting budget and engineering hours on unsuccessful prototypes. Simulations can create a virtual replica of your specific laser system. Such a Digital Twin allows you to safely test scaling upgrades and investigate new operation modes in a risk-free environment. An empirically validated software model can analyze thousands of parameter combinations in a single day, while in a real lab environment this study would take thousands of paid engineering hours.
Mechanical Design
We provide mechanical engineering for commercial and scientific laser systems, ranging from specialized components like custom kinematic mounts and sub-systems (e.g., stretchers) to complete laser products and instruments. We also design customized experimental setups for research environments. Upon project completion, you receive a full documentation package, including 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) with part numbers and vendor information. Engineering is a series of trade-offs: a laser cannot simultaneously have the smallest footprint, the lowest cost, and the highest serviceability with easy access for maintenance and adjustment. We work closely with you to optimize the design specifically for the priorities that matter most to your project goals.
Custom Software for Data Processing
We create custom data-processing software tailored to femtosecond laser diagnostics and measurements. We automate the evaluation of long-term laser performance logs, as well as the analysis of data from streak cameras, beam profilers, autocorrelators, microscopes, oscilloscopes, and other instruments. Our philosophy is simple: while manual data processing is OK for occasional tasks, any task that becomes a regular time-consuming routine should be automated.
